Chapel Hill (North Carolina), Sep 3: Jensen Huang, the CEO of Nvidia, expressed that he feels no obligation to continue working but is driven by the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) over the next decade.


Huang stated, "I've been in this field for a long time, and while I don't have to work, I am eager to witness the advancements in the next 10 to 15 years." This sentiment was shared during a discussion with US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.


For Huang, the excitement stems from both the technology itself and the vast ambitions it has inspired.


He remarked, "The aspirations of the industry, my colleagues, and myself have been significantly amplified."


Huang painted an optimistic picture of a future where tasks that once took a decade could be accomplished in just a year, and projects that typically required a year could be completed in a month.


"In the next five to ten years, I foresee that tasks taking ten years will be reduced to one year, and those taking one year will take merely a month," he elaborated.


The Nvidia leader emphasized that AI is empowering individuals, businesses, and nations to address challenges on an unprecedented scale.


"Now, even average individuals can envision making a significant impact on a hundred trillion dollar industry," Huang noted.


He mentioned that innovators are discussing the potential to generate trillions in economic benefits globally.


Such ambitions, he argued, reflect a new level of aspiration enabled by AI technology.


"Historically, we've never been able to articulate such possibilities," he added.


Huang urged nations to embrace this technology with optimism and elevate their ambitions instead of succumbing to uncertainty.


"This is a moment to feel enlightened, inspired, and energized, as you now have this remarkable technology at your disposal," he stated.


He likened the evolution of AI to past technological breakthroughs that once seemed almost magical.


"Electricity allowed us to illuminate spaces from afar, while advancements in vehicles and aircraft have made them safer over time," he explained.


Huang asserted that AI will similarly progress through engineering, mathematics, software, and responsible development.


He dismissed fears that AI would merely replace human workers, stating that while it would automate certain tasks, the essence and meaning of jobs would remain intact.


Huang also referred to AI as a great equalizer, as it enables people to interact with computers using everyday language.


Lutnick echoed this sentiment, suggesting that the technology could democratize advanced knowledge.


"You can now possess... a PhD in everything. That's right. It's all at your fingertips," Lutnick remarked.


"You are that person now. Everyone has that capability now," Huang replied.


Lutnick commended Huang's positive outlook, calling him "an American treasure" and noted that Nvidia is steering the nation toward a future that once seemed like science fiction.


"Your company is guiding us down a path that none of us could have imagined in our youth," the US Commerce Secretary stated.


Huang co-founded Nvidia in 1993 and has been its President and CEO since the beginning.


The company started as a graphics technology specialist before its processors became essential for the development and functioning of modern AI systems.


Originally from Taiwan, Huang moved to the US as a child and pursued electrical engineering at Oregon State University and Stanford University.


Under his leadership, Nvidia has evolved into one of the most valuable tech companies globally.
