New LPG Cylinder Prices Effective May 1: Commercial Rates Surge

Starting May 1, the prices of commercial LPG cylinders have increased significantly, with a rise of ₹993, pushing costs above ₹3,000 in major cities like Delhi and Mumbai. While domestic gas cylinder prices remain stable, new delivery regulations require consumers to provide an OTP for verification. Introduction of New Prices

As of May 1, the revised prices for gas cylinders have come into effect across the country. Amid rising tensions in the Middle East, state-owned companies have increased the prices of cylinders. The cost of commercial LPG cylinders has seen a significant hike of approximately ₹993, bringing the total price to over ₹3,000 in various cities, including Delhi and Mumbai. However, there has been no change in the prices of domestic gas cylinders.


Details of the Price Increase

From today, the price of a 19-kilogram commercial cylinder has risen by ₹993. In Delhi, the new price for a 19-kilogram cylinder is now ₹3071.50, while domestic cylinders remain unchanged at ₹913.


New Rates in Delhi

In the capital city, Delhi, the commercial LPG cylinder is now priced at ₹3071.50, up from the previous rate of ₹2078.50, marking a substantial increase of ₹993. Domestic gas cylinders continue to be available at ₹913.


Prices in Other Cities

In Mumbai, the cost of a commercial cylinder has reached ₹3024, up from approximately ₹2031. Kolkata has seen an increase to ₹3202, while in Chennai, the price stands at ₹3237. In Uttar Pradesh, Agra's cylinder price has risen to ₹3125.50, Lakhnow's to ₹3194, and Gorakhpur's to ₹3255.50. Fortunately, domestic gas cylinder prices remain stable without any significant changes.


New Delivery Regulations

Starting today, the rules for gas delivery have also been tightened. Consumers must now provide the OTP sent to their registered mobile number upon receiving their cylinder. Deliveries will not be valid without this OTP. If a consumer's mobile number is outdated, the delivery personnel can update it on-site via the app.
