New Delhi, Aug 18: The American tech giant Meta is ramping up its initiatives to prevent the distribution and resurgence of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) on its platforms in India, as per recent reports.

According to a report by a news outlet, discussions between the social media entity and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) have centered on how Meta manages illegal content and the overarching duty of digital platforms to stop harmful materials from reappearing after they have been identified and removed.

The company is actively working to mitigate the spread of such content, remaining vigilant since CSAM is a serious violation of Indian law.
