Kishor Indukari: From Corporate Job to Successful Dairy Entrepreneur
The Journey of Kishor Indukari
It’s common to hear people in your neighborhood say that one should pursue what they love. However, many still follow the crowd when it comes to career choices. Parents often impose decisions on their children, insisting they enroll in certain courses, regardless of the child's interests. This can lead to frustration and a lack of fulfillment. Today, we share an inspiring story that illustrates how following one's passion can lead to remarkable success, provided there is patience and hard work involved.
In today's world, many parents dream of their children becoming doctors, engineers, or scientists. However, Kishor Indukari's story is different. Many individuals work jobs they dislike for financial stability, often feeling unfulfilled. Kishor, an IIT alumnus, faced a similar dilemma. He decided to leave his high-paying job in the U.S. to pursue something he was passionate about, despite societal stigma.
Upon returning to India, Kishor purchased 20 cows and ventured into dairy farming. After overcoming initial challenges, his hard work paid off, and his dairy business has now grown into a company valued at ₹44 crores. He established 'Sids Farm' in Hyderabad, focusing on delivering pure milk through a subscription model. Kishor, originally from Karnataka, has successfully tapped into a market that values quality dairy products.
Educational Background
After completing his Master's and Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts, Kishor worked at Intel for six years. Despite his successful career, he felt unfulfilled and decided to return to his hometown in Karnataka. This decision marked a significant turning point in his life.
During his time in Hyderabad, Kishor noticed a lack of safe and healthy milk options available to consumers. This observation sparked a business idea, leading him to start his dairy with just 20 cows in 2012. He and his family began milking the cows themselves and delivering organic milk directly to customers' homes. To ensure the milk's freshness, they invested in a system that maintained its quality from production to delivery.
Kishor named his dairy farm 'Sids Farm' after his son, and it now serves around 10,000 customers, generating an annual revenue of ₹44 crores. In addition to milk, they also sell organic dairy products like yogurt and ghee. This story serves as a reminder that no job is too small or too big; every task, when approached with dedication and hard work, can lead to success.
