Infosys Reports Record Number of Employees Earning Over ₹1 Crore Annually
Record Earnings at Infosys
Infosys, a leading IT firm, has announced a historic milestone with 130 employees earning over ₹1 crore annually, as revealed in its annual performance review for FY26. This marks a 16% increase from the previous fiscal year, FY25, where 112 employees reached this earnings level. The latest data indicates a robust recovery following previous fluctuations; the number of crore-plus earners had dropped to 103 in FY24 from 124 in FY23 before rebounding in FY25. Prior to FY22, Infosys consistently reported fewer than 100 employees in this high-earning category.
The company attributed this growth to the value of stock incentives granted in earlier years, which were exercised during FY26, along with salary revisions that elevated compensation for certain employees. Additionally, Infosys experienced improved retention rates among its top earners, with only 22 employees from the crore-plus salary group leaving the company in FY26, a significant decrease compared to the 67 exits over the previous two years combined.
It's important to note that these figures pertain solely to India-based employees who remained with Infosys for the entire financial year, excluding those who joined or left during that period. The compensation details of the ten highest-paid employees were also disclosed separately in the Board’s Report.
AI Impact and Hiring Plans
This announcement comes as technology companies globally assess the impact of generative AI on traditional business models and workforce needs. Many firms are prioritizing automation and AI-driven transformation initiatives. Despite these industry shifts, Infosys does not anticipate a reduction in its overall workforce by the end of FY27. The company reported a healthy demand for experienced lateral hires, which supports its growth strategy.
Moreover, Infosys aims to hire 20,000 fresh graduates in FY27, maintaining the same target as the previous year. The company recognizes the importance of campus talent as clients continue to invest in digital transformation and technology-led projects.
During FY26, Infosys saw a modest increase in its workforce, reporting a total of 328,594 employees as of March 31, 2026, up from 323,578 the previous year, resulting in a net addition of approximately 5,000 employees. On a standalone basis, the company employed 252,753 individuals at the end of March.
