Mumbai's Stock Market Soars Amid Global Declines
Mumbai: The benchmark indices experienced a remarkable rally for the seventh consecutive day on Friday, with the Sensex soaring by 1,718 points, while the Nifty reclaimed the 25,000 mark. This surge was fueled by ongoing foreign investments and a drop in crude oil prices, which lifted investor sentiment.

Among the top performers in the Sensex, Mahindra & Mahindra saw a significant increase of 6.15% after announcing a 25% rise in consolidated profit after tax (PAT) for the second quarter, amounting to Rs 4,587.88 crore, driven by robust revenue growth in the automotive sector despite challenges from commodity price fluctuations linked to the West Asia conflict.
Other notable gainers included ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Titan, Axis Bank, and Kotak Mahindra Bank.
Power Grid was the only stock that did not perform well within the blue-chip group.
Over the past week, the Sensex has surged by 7,781.99 points, marking a 10.62% increase, while the Nifty has risen by 2,331.5 points, or 10.27%.

"Indian equities have managed to withstand a global downturn, continuing their upward trend as investors view the domestic market as a relatively safe option amid international instability. Wall Street faced a severe tech sell-off as investors considered the likelihood of stricter regulations under a Democratic administration," stated Vinod Nair, Head of Research at Geojit Investments Ltd.
