Indian Railways Launches New Overnight Train Service Between Kanpur and Delhi

New Daily Train Service Announced

New Delhi, Sep 24: To enhance overnight rail connectivity, Indian Railways has introduced a new daily train service linking Kanpur Central with Anand Vihar (T). This initiative aims to provide a seamless travel option between Kanpur and Delhi.

This service will improve accessibility for passengers traveling between Kanpur, Etawah, Aligarh, Ghaziabad, and the Delhi area, thereby boosting mobility along this vital rail route.

Train No. 14153, the Kanpur Central-Anand Vihar (T) Mail, is scheduled to leave Kanpur Central at 20:40 and arrive at Anand Vihar (T) by 04:50 the following morning, as per the official announcement.

In the opposite direction, Train No. 14154 will depart Anand Vihar (T) at 23:25 and reach Kanpur Central at 07:25, according to the statement.

The train will cover a total distance of 428 km in both directions, with a travel time of 8 hours and 10 minutes from Kanpur Central to Anand Vihar (T), and 8 hours for the return trip.

This new service will make stops at several key locations, including Phaphund, Etawah, Tundla, Hathras, Aligarh, Khurja, Dadri, and Ghaziabad.

By offering this daily service, Indian Railways aims to provide an additional travel option for passengers between Kanpur and the National Capital Region, featuring convenient overnight schedules in both directions. The introduction of this Mail service is expected to significantly enhance rail connectivity between Kanpur Central and Anand Vihar (T), while also ensuring access to major stations along the route.

Additionally, Indian Railways has sanctioned the construction of a four-lane Road Over Bridge (ROB) at Alkapuri in the Vadodara Division of Western Railway, with a total investment of Rs 166.5 crore, shared equally with the state government.

The Railway's contribution will be approximately Rs 83.2769 crore, matching the state government's share, as stated in the official release.
