Honor Magic V3 vs Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: A Battle of Slimness

The smartphone industry is witnessing a fierce competition for the title of the thinnest device, with the Honor Magic V3 now claiming the crown over the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. The Honor Magic V3 impresses with its ultra-slim design, measuring just 4.35mm when unfolded, thanks to innovative battery technology. In contrast, the Galaxy S25 Edge, while also sleek, faces challenges in fitting advanced features into its bar phone design. This article delves into the specifications and features of both devices, providing a comprehensive comparison that highlights their strengths and weaknesses.

The Honor Magic V3

The trend of showcasing ultra-slim designs has extended to smartphones, with manufacturers competing to create the thinnest devices. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge was previously touted as the slimmest Galaxy phone, but the newly launched Honor Magic V3 has taken that title with its impressive dimensions.

When folded, the Honor Magic V3 measures approximately 9.2mm in thickness, and when unfolded, it is just 4.35mm thick. While Samsung has been proud of its engineering feats, the Honor Magic V3 boasts several innovative features that contribute to its remarkably slim profile. Honor claims to have advanced battery technology by incorporating 10% silicon in the negative electrode of its battery. This innovation, along with the design that allows the battery to be distributed between the two panels of the foldable phone, enables it to achieve a thinner profile than many competitors. Despite its sleek design, the device is equipped with a robust 5150mAh battery that supports 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge

Although the Honor Magic V3 may present specifications that surpass those of the S25 Edge, comparing the two devices directly is somewhat misleading. The foldable design of the Honor V3 allows for a more efficient use of space and better battery management, which contributes to its impressive specifications and slimness. In contrast, the Galaxy S25 Edge, being a traditional bar phone, has had to fit all its technological features into a more compact and challenging design.
