India Post Launches Mascot Design Contest with Rs 2 Lakh Prize Pool


New Delhi: The Department of Posts has initiated the 'India Post Mascot Design Contest' on the Innovate India MyGov platform, inviting citizens nationwide to create the official mascot for India Post. The contest features a total prize pool of Rs 2 lakh, which will be distributed across categories for mascot design and naming, as stated in an official announcement on Saturday.


This initiative aims to establish a unique brand ambassador that embodies the core principles of India Post, including trust, reliability, inclusivity, service, and digital innovation, according to the Ministry of Communications.


The contest is open to all Indian citizens, who are encouraged to submit one original mascot design, a fitting name for the mascot, and a brief concept note via the MyGov platform. Submissions will be accepted from July 15 to August 15.


To foster creative engagement, the government has set aside cash prizes of Rs 75,000, Rs 50,000, and Rs 25,000 for the top three mascot designs.


Additionally, separate cash awards of Rs 25,000, Rs 15,000, and Rs 10,000 will be given for the best three mascot names, bringing the total prize pool to Rs 2 lakh.


Winners will receive certificates, and the awards for mascot design and naming will be presented independently.


The chosen mascot will serve as the official brand ambassador for India Post, appearing in promotional campaigns, philatelic products, public awareness initiatives, exhibitions, social media, and other official communications.


The government is encouraging students, designers, artists, and creative professionals from across the nation to participate in this contest and help shape the future visual identity of India Post.


This contest is launched as India Post continues to enhance its financial performance.


Recently, the postal department achieved a remarkable milestone, surpassing the Rs 4,000-crore turnover mark in the first quarter of a financial year for the first time, reporting its highest-ever Q1 revenue of Rs 4,008.95 crore for FY 2026-27.
