Flight Cancellations Extended

New Delhi: On Friday, Air India and Air India Express announced the extension of their flight cancellations to various cities in Saudi Arabia until November 14, citing ongoing regional instability.

Previously, these airlines had suspended flights to Riyadh and Dammam until November 7, and to Jeddah until October 31.

Other carriers, including IndiGo and Akasa Air, have also halted their services to Saudi Arabia.

The recent escalation of geopolitical tensions in West Asia has led to attacks on infrastructure, including airports in Saudi Arabia.

Air India confirmed via a post on X, stating, "Due to the prevailing situation in the region, flights to and from Jeddah, Riyadh, and Dammam will remain suspended until November 14, 2026 (inclusive)."

Passengers who booked flights on or before October 30 for travel up to November 14 are eligible for a one-time complimentary rebooking, subject to availability, for travel until November 29. They may also choose to receive a full refund if they cancel their bookings.

According to the announcement, Air India passengers can rebook to or from any operational Air India station in Saudi Arabia, while Air India Express passengers can do the same for any operational Air India Express station in Saudi Arabia or Bahrain.

IndiGo has cancelled its flights to and from Jeddah, Dammam, and Madinah until November 14, while Akasa Air has suspended its services to Riyadh until November 30 and to Jeddah until November 10.
