AIIMS-Bhubaneswar Partners with KIIT-TBI to Revolutionize Healthcare Innovation

AIIMS-Bhubaneswar has partnered with KIIT-TBI and BCKIC to foster healthcare innovation through a new MoU. This collaboration aims to create a platform for developing healthcare technologies, establish Centres of Excellence, and support startups in the sector. The initiative is set to position AIIMS-Bhubaneswar as a national hub for medical innovation, enhancing product development and clinical entrepreneurship. The signing ceremony was attended by key figures from all organizations involved, marking a significant step towards advancing healthcare in the region.
 

A New Era for Healthcare Innovation in Bhubaneswar


In a significant move to enhance healthcare innovation and support clinical entrepreneurship, AIIMS-Bhubaneswar has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the KIIT-Technology Business Incubator (KIIT-TBI) and the Bhubaneswar City Knowledge Innovation Cluster (BCKIC) Foundation. This agreement was formalized on Thursday.


The primary goal of this partnership is to establish a strong framework for the development, validation, and implementation of healthcare technologies, thereby accelerating the growth of healthcare innovations and attracting startups in the sector.


Additionally, the collaboration will facilitate the creation of joint Centres of Excellence (CoEs) focusing on healthcare, diagnostics, and digital health. The MoU signing event took place at AIIMS-Bhubaneswar, attended by executive director Ashutosh Biswas and KIIT-TBI CEO and BCKIC chairman Mrutyunjay Suar.


During the ceremony, Biswas emphasized that this collaboration would transform AIIMS-Bhubaneswar into a national hub for translational innovation, enhancing medical product development, advancing technology, managing intellectual property effectively, and promoting clinical entrepreneurship.


As part of the MoU, the three organizations will work together on various innovation and startup initiatives, including bootcamps, regulatory workshops, and roundtable discussions between startups and investors.


Moreover, there will be a strong focus on skill development, entrepreneurship, clinical innovation, technology transfer, and the incubation of healthcare startups.


A Centre of Excellence (CoE) will be established, featuring state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, clinical validation pathways, and advanced research facilities.


The event was also attended by BCKIC CEO and KIIT-TBI advisor Namrata Misra, AIIMS-Bhubaneswar dean Satyajeet Misra, MoU committee secretary Rituparna Maiti, KIIT-TBI (Tech-Innovation) manager Jayalaxmi Dash, and BCKIC manager Arpan Ghosh.
