Both engines are available with manual and automatic transmission options.

New Features Introduced

The updated Fortuner now includes an idle start-stop feature to help reduce emissions. Other enhancements comprise a 360-degree camera and a wireless phone charger for convenient charging. However, Toyota has removed the ventilated front seats, with no explanation provided for this change. A small battery pack will be positioned beneath the seats, available exclusively in the Neo Drive variants.

Government Support for Hybrid Technology

Recent reports indicate that the government is advocating for hybrid technology in state-owned vehicles, which are typically used for transporting officials. An industry report highlighted that manufacturers have expressed concerns, suggesting that electric vehicles (EVs) would be a more environmentally friendly option. Given the Fortuner's popularity in official duties, Toyota's decision to incorporate hybrid technology into this efficient SUV aligns with current trends.
