Unusual Wedding Incident: Bride Refuses Groom Over Counting Money
A Shocking Refusal at the Altar
Marriage is a significant milestone in a woman's life, and she often strives to find the best partner who can blend well with her. However, in arranged marriages, couples sometimes don't get to know each other properly before the big day, leading to unexpected revelations post-wedding that can result in regret.
Interestingly, some fortunate brides discover the groom's flaws or bad habits right on their wedding day. This has led to numerous stories where brides refuse to proceed with the ceremony, causing the wedding party to leave empty-handed.
You might have heard of such incidents, where brides decline to marry due to reasons like the groom's tobacco use, arriving intoxicated, or displaying rude behavior. Today, we recount a remarkable tale from Bihar, where a bride refused to marry because the groom couldn't count ten hundred-rupee notes.
This incident took place in the Pandal village of Madhubani district. On the scheduled day, the groom arrived with his wedding party, and the initial ceremonies, including the exchange of garlands, were completed. However, during the mandap ceremony, the bride's friends began to suspect the groom's literacy when they interacted with him.
The bride's friends handed the groom ten hundred-rupee notes and asked him to count them. Despite three attempts, he failed each time. When asked about the name of the district, he mistakenly replied with 'Pandal.' He continued to provide incorrect answers to all questions posed to him. Witnessing this, the bride mustered the courage to refuse the marriage.
Many guests present applauded the bride's decision. Following this, a guest from the groom's party proposed his educated son as a potential match for the bride, to which her family agreed.
It's crucial to thoroughly check the background of a potential partner before saying 'yes' to marriage. Often, individuals may provide misleading information about their education and job status while finalizing a relationship.
