West Indies Announces T20I Squad

Cricket West Indies (CWI) has revealed a 15-member team for the upcoming three-match T20 International series against Sri Lanka, set to take place from June 11 to June 14 at Sabina Park in Jamaica. This series represents the West Indies' initial T20 engagement following their commendable performance in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup held in February and March, and it plays a crucial role in their preparations for the 2028 tournament in Australia and New Zealand.

Squad Changes and Player Management

The squad sees the inclusion of promising young players Ackeem Auguste and Jewel Andrew, along with all-rounder Shamar Springer, marking three changes from the team that participated in the global event in India and Sri Lanka, where the West Indies narrowly missed out on a semi-final spot. Notably, fast bowler Alzarri Joseph has been omitted from the selection as part of a workload management strategy, allowing him to focus on training for the upcoming two-match test series in Antigua.
