UFC Freedom 250: Historic MMA Event Set for White House Lawn
UFC Freedom 250 to Celebrate America's 250th Anniversary
The renowned mixed martial arts organization, UFC, is gearing up for a groundbreaking event on the South Lawn of the White House. This summer, UFC CEO Dana White and US President Donald Trump will host a spectacular seven-fight card named UFC Freedom 250, coinciding with the ongoing celebrations for the 250th anniversary of the United States. The event is scheduled for June 14, aligning with President Trump's birthday, and was originally planned for July 4 to honor the nation's independence.
Title Fights to Highlight Freedom 250
The main event will feature a championship unification match between interim champion Justin Gaethje and the reigning UFC lightweight champion Ilia Topuria. Topuria, who boasts an undefeated record of 17-0, is a two-division champion and one of the UFC's most promising talents. At 29, he is known for his knockout power, having previously claimed the UFC featherweight title with impressive victories over future Hall of Famers like Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway. He secured the lightweight title in June 2025 by knocking out former champion Charles Oliveira in the first round.
Gaethje, with a record of 27-5, is also recognized for his striking ability and is considered one of the most thrilling fighters in MMA history. Although he has held an interim title twice, he has yet to capture an undisputed UFC title, having lost to Oliveira in 2022 and Khabib Nurmagomedov in 2020. Betting odds currently favor Topuria, with estimates ranging from -500 to -800, while Gaethje is seen as an underdog with odds between +350 and +500.
Alongside the main event, the card will feature six additional bouts, including a fight for the UFC interim heavyweight title between Ciryl Gane and former two-division champion Alex Pereira, who is stepping up to heavyweight in pursuit of history. If Pereira wins, he will become the first fighter to hold titles in three different divisions.
