Suryakumar Yadav's Historic Achievement

In a remarkable feat, Suryakumar Yadav, the T20I captain of India, has set a new record while playing for the Mumbai Indians during the 2026 Indian Premier League. On May 24, during the final league match of the season, he became only the second player in the franchise's history to score 4000 runs in T20 cricket. To reach this milestone, he needed 40 runs against the Rajasthan Royals and achieved it by hitting a six off Yash Raj Punja on the second ball of the tenth over. As of this match, Suryakumar has accumulated 4002 runs in 127 T20 matches for MI. The franchise retained him for a whopping Rs 16.35 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction.
