In a remarkable display of skill, the NECO Master Blaster Women clinched a 30-run victory against the defending champions, the Orange Tigresses, during the Vidarbha Women's Premier League 2026 held at the VCA Civil Lines Ground in Nagpur on Monday.


NECO Sets a Challenging Target of 150 Runs

Batting first, NECO Master Blaster managed to score a solid 150 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Key contributions came from various players, with wicketkeeper Nihari Kawale leading the charge, scoring an impressive 44 runs off 31 balls, including six boundaries. Diya Bhagwat added a vital unbeaten 22 runs from just 11 balls, hitting four boundaries, while Arya Gohane provided a late surge with a quick-fire 22 runs off eight balls, featuring two fours and two sixes, ensuring a strong finish for NECO.


Orange Tigresses Struggle in Chase

In their pursuit of 151 runs, the Orange Tigresses faced difficulties in forming partnerships, despite a resilient effort from Tanvi Mendhe, who scored 51 runs off 43 balls. Mahek Mistry chipped in with 27 runs, and Trupti Lodhe remained not out on 15. However, the NECO bowling unit applied consistent pressure, leading to regular wickets. Ultimately, the Tigresses were bowled out for 120 runs in 19.1 overs, falling short by 30 runs.
