India A Team Set for ACC Rising Stars Asia Cup
Mumbai: The Senior Men’s Selection Committee has officially announced the India A squad for the upcoming Asian Cricket Council’s (ACC) Rising Stars Asia Cup.
Scheduled to be held in Qatar from November 14 to 23, the matches will take place at the West End International Cricket Stadium in Doha.
The participating teams are divided into two groups: Group A features Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, and Sri Lanka, while India A is placed in Group B with Oman, UAE, and Pakistan 'A'.
Leading the India A team is wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma, with Punjab all-rounder Naman Dhir serving as vice-captain.
Among the squad is the young batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who at just 14 years old has earned his first call-up to the India A team.
Sooryavanshi recently made headlines by scoring the fourth-fastest Youth Test century in history, achieving a remarkable 78-ball century for India U19 against Australia U19 at the Ian Healy Oval last month.
He also set a record for the most career sixes in Youth ODI cricket during his impressive 70-run innings off 68 balls in the second 50-over match against Australia U-19 in September.
Another notable inclusion is IPL 2025 breakout star Priyansh Arya, who made his IPL debut at the age of 24 and quickly became one of PBKS’ standout players.
The complete India A squad for the Rising Stars Asia Cup includes: Priyansh Arya, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Nehal Wadhera, Naman Dhir (VC), Suryansh Shedge, Jitesh Sharma (C) (WK), Ramandeep Singh, Harsh Dubey, Ashutosh Sharma, Yash Thakur, Gurjapneet Singh, Vijay Kumar Vyshak, Yudhvir Singh Charak, Abhisek Porel (WK), and Suyash Sharma.
