Excitement Builds for the ODI Series Opener
Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], November 29: KL Rahul, who is stepping in as captain for the Indian cricket team, expressed his enthusiasm about the possibility of former captain MS Dhoni attending the first ODI against South Africa, scheduled for November 30 in Dhoni's hometown of Ranchi.
During a press conference ahead of the match, Rahul was asked about the potential impact of Dhoni's presence on both the team and the fans. He fondly recalled his early experiences playing under the leadership of 'Captain Cool'.
“We’ve all had the privilege of playing under MS Dhoni. He’s not just a legendary player but also a great person, and we all admire him. It would be wonderful if he could come to the match; it would surely elevate the excitement for both the crowd and us,” Rahul stated.
He added, “If he’s here, it will definitely boost our spirits. We aim to perform well and entertain both the audience and MS Dhoni. A victory would surely make him happy,” he concluded.
