In the latest ICC Men’s T20 Players’ Rankings released on Wednesday, young Indian opener Abhishek Sharma and spinner Varun Chakravarthy have maintained their positions at the forefront of the rankings for batters and bowlers, respectively.
Abhishek Sharma leads the batting rankings with an impressive 925 rating points, surpassing England's Phil Salt and Tilak Verma. The only other Indian player in the top 10 is T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav, who holds the eighth position.
On the bowling side, Varun Chakravarthy continues to dominate the T20I bowlers' rankings. Notably, Australia’s Josh Hazlewood has made significant progress, moving up two spots to 10th place following his strong performances against India.
Chakravarthy is closely followed by Akeal Hosein from the West Indies and Afghanistan's Rashid Khan, while no other Indian bowlers are featured in the top rankings.
In the all-rounders category, Hardik Pandya stands as the sole Indian in the top 10, currently ranked fourth. The top position is held by Pakistan's Saim Ayub, followed by Zimbabwe's Sikandar Raza and West Indies' Roston Chase.
As the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup approaches, Pakistan has shown promising signs with several players improving their rankings. The team has secured victories in four out of five bilateral series in 2025, including a notable 2-1 series win against South Africa.
Three Pakistani players have made notable advancements in the T20I batting rankings due to their performances against the Proteas: Babar Azam has climbed nine spots to tie for 30th, Ayub has jumped ten places to 39th, and Salman Agha has also moved up ten positions to 54th.
Additionally, West Indies captain Shai Hope has risen two spots to 12th, while Bangladesh's Tanzid Hasan has made a remarkable leap of 20 places to 17th. Afghanistan's Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran have also seen improvements, moving to 15th and 20th places, respectively.
