WWE fans in India are on the brink of an exciting transformation as Netflix prepares to deliver their favorite wrestling content. Following the global streaming giant's acquisition of rights to air Monday Night Raw in the United States, Indian viewers will soon have access to the action on the same platform.

Beginning April 1, Netflix will showcase weekly episodes of Raw, SmackDown, NXT, and WWE Premium Live Events. WWE's Chief Content Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, shared this announcement in a video released over the weekend.

In his welcoming message to Indian fans, Triple H stated, “Namaste, India. This is the King of Kings, the Game, Triple H. Are you ready? Starting on April 1, WWE has a brand-new home in India. This means Raw, SmackDown, NXT, every premium live event from the Royal Rumble to SummerSlam, and all of it leads to the grandest stage of them all, WrestleMania. So, India, I’ll ask you one more time, are you ready? Because this is the beginning of the Netflix era.”

Impact of WWE's Transition to Netflix

Prior to this shift, WWE programming had been broadcasted on the Sony Sports Network (previously TEN Sports) in India since 2002. Sony took over TEN and renewed its agreement, which led to the production of two exclusive Superstar Spectacle events in India. The first event occurred at the WWE ThunderDome in 2021, while the second was held in 2023 at the G. M. C. Balayogi Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad.

In 2024, WWE secured a $5 billion deal with Netflix, which influenced its previous international agreements, including the one with Sony in India. As WWE transitions to the streaming giant, AEW has signed a deal with Fox Sports Mexico, which was WWE’s former broadcaster in that region, while TNA is collaborating with Sportsnet.

WWE Raw began streaming on Netflix in the US on January 6, but it continued to be available on Sony Ten 1 Network in India. Recent reports indicated that WWE would shift its media rights from Sony Pictures Networks India to Netflix India, with the broadcasting set to align with the Road to Wrestlemania 41.
