Why Avinash Mishra Calls Out Mahira Khan Over Operation Sindoor Controversy

Controversy Surrounding Operation Sindoor
New Delhi: India's Operation Sindoor has garnered widespread acclaim, except from Pakistan. Numerous Pakistani artists have criticized the operation, labeling it as 'shameful,' which has sparked a reaction from Bigg Boss 18 contestant Avinash Mishra.
Actress Mahira Khan expressed her views in a detailed Instagram post, stating, "I am thankful to live in a country where I can voice my opinions freely. India, your ongoing war and hate speech have persisted for years... You launch attacks on cities at night and call it a victory? Shame on you."
In response, Avinash shared Mahira's post on his Instagram story, remarking, "Oh Mahira didi, we don’t need to blame Pakistan—evidence has been seen by the whole world. Just don’t come back asking for work in Bharat once the situation calms down. Kudos for standing with your country. At least you’re not like some of our celebrities who’ve turned traitors just for reach and followers. But don’t worry, their turn will come too."
Avinash continued his critique by targeting Indian celebrities for their silence regarding Operation Sindoor. He stated, "Celebrities from across the border, who gained fame through Indian audiences, now labeling India’s actions against terrorism as 'shameful' and 'cowardly' is the peak of hypocrisy."
He further added, "Where are our celebrities now? If you can’t speak up for your country just to protect your brand or follower count, don’t ever pretend to represent India. Silence isn’t neutral. It’s cowardice."
On May 8, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) released a strong statement denouncing Pakistani actors Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan, calling for a complete ban on Pakistani artists in India. The association deemed their comments as 'disrespectful to the nation' and 'an insult to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country.'
