Indian Institutes Shine in QS Asia Rankings

New Delhi: According to the QS University Rankings released on Tuesday, five Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), along with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bengaluru and Delhi University, have secured spots in the top 100 educational institutions in Asia.

The IITs that made the cut include IIT-Delhi, IIT-Madras, IIT-Bombay, IIT-Kanpur, and IIT-Kharagpur.

As per the statement from QS, a total of seven Indian institutions are ranked within the top 100 in the QS World University Asia rankings, with 20 in the top 200 and 66 in the top 500.

In comparison to the previous year's rankings, 36 Indian institutions saw improvements, while 16 maintained their positions, and 105 experienced declines. The fluctuations in this year's results are attributed to the expanded ranking criteria.

Notably, 41 Indian institutions are listed in the top 80th percentile of universities, with India leading Asia in terms of faculty holding PhDs.

IIT-Delhi, which holds the 59th position this year, has been recognized as the top Indian institute for the fifth consecutive year.
