Beijing: On Wednesday, China's State Council Information Office unveiled a white paper titled “China's Position on Some Issues Concerning China-U.S. Economic and Trade Relations.”

This document aims to clarify the realities surrounding the economic and trade interactions between China and the United States, while also outlining China's perspective on various related matters.

The release of this white paper comes amid increasing unilateralism and protectionist measures from the U.S., which have severely disrupted normal economic and trade exchanges between the two nations, as reported by a state news agency.

Since trade tensions escalated in 2018, the U.S. has imposed tariffs exceeding 500 billion dollars on Chinese goods and has consistently pursued policies designed to limit China's growth.

Recently, the U.S. introduced additional tariffs on Chinese imports, citing issues like fentanyl as justification, along with reciprocal tariffs and a 50% increase on existing tariffs.

These actions, which reflect the coercive and isolationist tendencies of U.S. policy, contradict the principles of market economy and multilateralism, potentially leading to severe consequences for China-U.S. trade relations, according to the white paper.

In retaliation, China has implemented strong countermeasures to protect its national interests while remaining dedicated to resolving conflicts through dialogue. The document highlights multiple rounds of discussions aimed at stabilizing economic ties.

China asserts that its economic and trade relationship with the U.S. is mutually beneficial and win-win.
