Unrest in Mhow After Cricket Celebration

Celebrations for the Indian cricket team's recent triumph turned tumultuous in the Mhow region of Indore, Madhya Pradesh. What began as a festive occasion quickly spiraled into disorder, resulting in riots. Law enforcement promptly intervened to restore order.

Witnesses recounted their frightening experiences, including Radhe Kaushal, whose residence was attacked. His family, residing in Patti Bazar Chowk, endured a terrifying incident as their home was subjected to stone-throwing, and their vehicles were set ablaze. Family members expressed their distress, stating they could not sleep due to the fear instilled by rioters chanting provocative slogans.

Victims reported that the assailants shouted anti-national slogans and ridiculed their beliefs, taunting them with remarks like, "Call your Lord, your vehicle is burning. Who will save you?" Additionally, the rioters allegedly targeted the Shitla Mata Temple with stones. Some residents suggested that the violence stemmed from discontent regarding India's Champions Trophy victory.

In response to the chaos, the police, under the leadership of Rural SP Hitika Vasal, implemented stringent measures. Security has been enhanced in vulnerable areas, which are now under heavy surveillance. Authorities are analyzing video evidence to track down and apprehend those involved. As of now, the situation is reported to be stable.
