Fatal Incident at Chunar Railway Station

In a tragic event on Tuesday in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, at least four individuals lost their lives after being struck by an oncoming train while attempting to cross the railway tracks. This incident occurred shortly after the victims had disembarked from another train. According to railway officials, the group was en route from Chopan to Varanasi for a Ganga bath. They had arrived at Chunar station via a passenger train when the accident took place. As they tried to cross the tracks, they were hit by a train coming from the opposite direction. Officials noted that the victims were supposed to exit towards the platform but chose to cross the tracks instead, leading to this unfortunate incident.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has acknowledged this heartbreaking incident and extended his condolences to the grieving families. He instructed officials to promptly reach the scene and initiate relief operations on a war footing. Furthermore, the Chief Minister directed the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams to accelerate rescue efforts and ensure proper medical care for the injured.
