Tragic Road Mishap on Baramunda Overbridge Claims One Life and Injures Two Officers

Bhubaneswar: A tragic incident occurred on the Baramunda overbridge, resulting in the death of one individual and injuries to two police officers, as reported by officials on Thursday.

The accident took place around midnight on Wednesday when a pickup truck was struck by an unidentified larger vehicle, leading to the driver's fatality.

In response to the incident, two police vans from the Khandagiri police station were dispatched to the scene to recover the deceased and facilitate road clearance.

While the police were managing the situation, a trailer collided with the stationary police vehicles.

This collision resulted in serious injuries to two officers, who were subsequently taken to Capital Hospital for treatment.

One of the injured, a home guard driving a police vehicle at the time, sustained critical injuries and is currently receiving care at a private hospital.

Another officer, who was directing traffic on the overbridge, was also struck by the trailer and suffered multiple fractures in his arms and legs.

Twin City Police Commissioner S. Dev Datta Singh and Bhubaneswar DCP Jagmohan Meena visited the injured officers at the hospital.
