Devastating Incident at Goa Nightclub

On Sunday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed his sorrow over the tragic loss of life in a fire incident at a nightclub in Goa. He stated that the local authorities are actively conducting rescue and relief operations while providing necessary care to those affected.


In a post on 'X', Shah remarked, “The loss of lives in the fire incident in Arpora, Goa, is extremely tragic. The local administration is managing rescue and relief efforts and ensuring that the affected receive essential care.”


He further added, “My heartfelt condolences go out to the families who have lost their loved ones in this disaster. I pray for the swift recovery of the injured.” The fire broke out shortly after midnight at the 'Birch' nightclub located on Romeo Lane, resulting in the deaths of at least 25 individuals.


This party venue, situated in Arpora village, is approximately 25 kilometers from the state capital, Panaji, and had opened just last year. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, who visited the site, reported that most of the deceased were staff members working in the club's kitchen, including three women. He also mentioned that among the victims were three to four tourists.
