Final Farewell for Twisha Sharma

On Sunday, the funeral of Twisha Sharma, a former model and actress from Noida, who reportedly lost her life due to dowry harassment, took place in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Her body was cremated following a second autopsy conducted by a team of doctors from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi.

The cremation occurred at the Bhadbhada cremation ground shortly after 5 PM, where Twisha's mother and other family members were seen weeping uncontrollably.

After performing the necessary religious rites, the pyre was lit. Twisha's father, Navnidhi Sharma, expressed his grief during the day, stating, 'Today, we bid farewell to a daughter, a sister, a friend, and an innocent soul. A daughter who had just begun a new chapter in life with dreams has left us far too soon. The tearful eyes of parents, shattered dreams, and every passing moment waiting for justice pose a silent question to society.'

Circumstances Surrounding Twisha's Death

Twisha, aged 33, was found hanging in her in-laws' home in the Katara Hills area on May 12. Her family has accused her in-laws of harassing her for dowry and inciting her to commit suicide.

In contrast, her in-laws claim that Twisha was struggling with substance abuse issues. The police have filed a case against her husband, Samarth Singh, a lawyer, and his mother, former district judge Giribala Singh, under various sections including dowry harassment.

Samarth Singh was arrested on Friday in Jabalpur after being on the run for ten days. A court in Bhopal has since remanded him to seven days of police custody.
