First Fatality in Jaipur Dumper Incident
The horrific scene of a recent road accident in Jaipur continues to haunt the injured. A dumper driver, speeding over 100 kilometers per hour, wreaked havoc on the Harmada Loha Mandi Road, colliding with pedestrians and vehicles for nearly four minutes, leaving a trail of destruction spanning approximately 350 meters.
The First Victim: Girija Kanwar
The first casualty was a woman named Girija Kanwar. Her son, Digpratap Singh, shared the heartbreaking details of her death. A courier worker, Digpratap filed a report at the Harmada police station. After being discharged from the hospital, he visited the accident site on Tuesday afternoon with family. He recounted that while returning home from Khora via Loha Mandi, the dumper struck their scooter, resulting in his mother’s tragic death. Following this, the dumper continued to hit several others until it reached the express highway.
Community Mourning for RP Gora
Among the deceased was retired Subedar RP Gora, originally from Nagaur district, who had been residing in Ganesh Colony, Khatipura. His passing cast a shadow of sadness over the neighborhood on Tuesday.
Local residents fondly referred to him as 'Gora Sahab.' Known for his cheerful and sociable nature, he often encouraged the youth to pursue education and personal growth.
Gora's Legacy and Family
Councilor Hemendra Sharma mentioned that Gora left behind a wife and two sons. His elder son serves as a Major in the army, while the younger one runs a marble business in Parbatser. Gora's family took his body back to their village for the final rites.
