Bhubaneswar: On Saturday, Odisha Police apprehended three individuals linked to the murder of a builder in Bhubaneswar, according to a police official.

The suspects have been named as Gulu Mohanty (34), Silu alias Manoj Behera (31), and Sukanta Behera (41), all hailing from Pradhan Sahi village within the Airfield police jurisdiction, as reported by DCP Jagmohan Meena.

The victim, Sasmit Biswal, also referred to as Chinu, was brutally killed on Friday. The police indicated that the motive stemmed from a longstanding feud over property.

Meena elaborated that initial investigations suggested Biswal had visited a disputed land for a possession issue when he was attacked and subsequently murdered by the suspects. His remains were later found in a cashew forest on the city's outskirts and have been sent for a post-mortem examination.

Previously, Sasmit was in a business partnership with Tulu Mohanty, another resident of Pradhan Sahi village.

The victim's family filed a complaint against seven individuals, leading to the detention and eventual arrest of three suspects, the officer confirmed.
