Traffic Management Ahead of Concert

Guwahati, Dec 7: In anticipation of American pop sensation Post Malone's concert scheduled for December 8, the Guwahati Traffic Police have released a comprehensive traffic advisory to facilitate smooth traffic flow and ensure public safety throughout the city.

The event is set to take place at the Khanapara Veterinary Field, where a large crowd of fans is expected to attend.

According to a police spokesperson, the gates will open at 3:30 PM, and a detailed traffic management strategy has been established. Starting from 10 AM on Monday, restrictions will be placed on the movement of commercial and slow-moving vehicles.

The advisory outlines that traffic regulations will be enforced on several key routes, including GS Road from Sixmile Underbridge to Khanapara Rotary, the stretch from Sixmile Underbridge to Balughat Tripura Goli via Jayanagar Chariali, and other significant areas leading to the concert venue.

From 3 PM until the concert concludes, additional restrictions will be implemented on:

  • GS Road from the Prison Gate near Vivanta Hotel to Koinadhara Point on NH-27

  • From KV Khanapara to the APSC point

  • The service lane of NH-27 from Koinadhara Point to Khanapara Rotary on the Rohika side

Several areas have been designated as no-parking zones, including both sides of GS Road from Sixmile Underbridge to Khanapara Rotary and other critical stretches leading to the venue.

Parking arrangements have been made for attendees arriving from various routes, including GS Road, Sonapur, Jorabat, and NH-27, with designated spaces for two-wheelers as well.

The police emphasized that these restrictions will not hinder the movement of essential services such as fire trucks, ambulances, and local residents. Commuters are encouraged to utilize the foot overbridge near Vivanta Hotel for safe crossing of GS Road and to stay updated via the Guwahati Traffic Police's official social media channels regarding traffic conditions and parking options.
