Telangana CM Accuses BJP of Collusion with BRS Amid Election Campaign
Allegations of Silent Agreement Between BRS and BJP
The Chief Minister of Telangana, A. Revanth Reddy, has asserted that there exists a tacit understanding between the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He claimed that a request for permission to prosecute BRS leader K.T. Rama Rao in the Formula E race case has been pending with the Governor for the past two months.
While addressing a campaign rally in support of the Congress candidate for the upcoming by-election in Jubilee Hills on November 11, Reddy questioned why the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has not filed a case regarding alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project, which was developed during the previous BRS administration.
He accused senior BJP leaders of attempting to shield BRS President K. Chandrashekar Rao. Reddy stated, "KTR collected ₹50 crore in electoral bonds by awarding a contract to a company under the guise of the Formula E race. The Anti-Corruption Bureau has registered a case with evidence and sought permission from the Governor for arrests. The file has been stuck with the Governor for two months."
The Chief Minister further questioned whether the BJP is trying to assist the BRS in winning the by-election at the cost of its own prospects, suggesting that this could be a strategy for a future merger of BRS into the BJP.
