Tejashwi Yadav Criticizes Security Withdrawal for Lalu and Rabri
Tejashwi Yadav's Strong Response to Security Changes
On Tuesday, Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the opposition in the Bihar Assembly, expressed his strong disapproval regarding the removal of security for Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi. He remarked that only cowards require security, asserting that they are not afraid of anyone and that the public stands with them. He further criticized Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, stating that despite becoming the chief minister, his mindset remains unchanged, labeling him as an ineffective minister.
Controversy Surrounding Security Withdrawal
Last Saturday, a significant uproar occurred at the residence of former Chief Minister Rabri Devi when several RJD leaders formed a security circle, claiming that their leader had returned her security in protest against the NDA government's disrespectful behavior. This incident followed the allocation of the government bungalow at 10 Circular Road, which Rabri Devi had occupied for two decades, to BJP leader and minister Nand Kishore Yadav.
Rabri Devi, who has refused to move to the 39 Harding Road residence designated for the opposition leader, faced another setback this week when the government reduced security for her entire family. Shakti Singh Yadav, an RJD spokesperson and former MLA, who was among the first party leaders to sit at the gate, accused the BJP-led government of plotting to humiliate their leaders, including Lalu, Rabri, and Tejashwi. He claimed that all of them had returned their security, but the ruling party showed no concern, as they allegedly wished harm upon their leaders.
RJD Leaders Take Security Matters into Their Own Hands
Yadav further stated that from now on, RJD workers would take responsibility for ensuring the safety of their leaders. He emphasized his presence as a responsible individual for their security, alongside several other colleagues. RJD leader Abha Lata, who later arrived at the office located at 10 Circular Road, conducted a video call with Rabri Devi, showing her the crowd gathered at the gate.
