Tej Pratap Yadav Discusses Tejashwi's Political Future in Bihar Elections

Tej Pratap Yadav's Remarks on Tejashwi's Role

Tej Pratap Yadav, the leader of the Jan Shakti Janata Dal, who is contesting from the Mahua constituency in Bihar, stated that his younger brother Tejashwi Yadav is still 'a child' and that the appropriate time for him to take on responsibilities will come only after the state assembly elections. This comment was made in response to a question regarding Tejashwi's campaign efforts in Mahua, where he is the chief ministerial candidate for the Grand Alliance. Tej Pratap further mentioned that since Tejashwi campaigned in his constituency, he would visit Raghopur, where Tejashwi is contesting. He remarked, 'He is a child; we will let him hold a rattle after the elections. If he comes to our area, we will also visit his constituency, and then we will head to Raghopur.'

Nomination and Political Commentary

On October 16, Tej Pratap filed his nomination for the Mahua assembly seat. Earlier, on October 13, the Janata Dal United (JDU) announced its first batch of 22 candidates for the upcoming state assembly elections, which will occur in two phases. Tej Pratap also took a jab at Rahul Gandhi, suggesting that instead of pursuing a political career, the Congress MP should consider becoming a 'cook.' He criticized Gandhi's activities, stating, 'His job is to ride motorcycles and create pollution. He will spend his entire life fishing. The country will be plunged into darkness... He should have been a cook instead of a politician.'

Context of Tej Pratap's Comments

These remarks from the Jan Shakti Janata Dal leader followed Rahul Gandhi's visit to Begusarai, where he participated in traditional fishing practices by jumping into a pond. The upcoming Bihar elections in 2025 are set to witness a contest between the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the Grand Alliance. The NDA comprises the Bharatiya Janata Party, Janata Dal (United), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), and the Rashtriya Lok Morcha.

Grand Alliance Composition

The Grand Alliance, led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal, includes the Congress Party, the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) led by Dipankar Bhattacharya, the Communist Party of India, the Communist Party of India (Marxist), and Mukesh Sahni's Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP). Additionally, Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraj has claimed to contest all 243 seats in the state. Voting for the Bihar assembly, which consists of 243 seats, will take place in two phases on November 6 and 11, with results expected to be announced on November 14.
