Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay to Attend NITI Aayog Meeting in Delhi
Chief Minister's Official Visit to Delhi
On Wednesday, Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister Joseph Vijay is set to embark on a three-day official trip to New Delhi. During this visit, he is expected to participate in the NITI Aayog governing council meeting scheduled for June 11, which will be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), Vijay will depart from Chennai around 8 AM via a special chartered flight. This marks his second visit to the capital since taking office.
In his previous trip on May 27, the Chief Minister met with Prime Minister Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman before returning to Chennai the following day.
Meetings with Key Leaders
In addition to attending the NITI Aayog meeting, the Chief Minister is anticipated to hold discussions with President Droupadi Murmu, CP Radhakrishnan, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and senior Congress leaders. These meetings were not possible during his last visit to Delhi. Sources suggest that due to these additional engagements, the Chief Minister's stay in the national capital may extend until June 12. He is expected to return to Chennai around 6 PM on the same day after the official meetings.
Focus of the NITI Aayog Meeting
The upcoming NITI Aayog governing council meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Modi, will see participation from Chief Ministers across all states, focusing on key issues related to cooperative federalism and development priorities. An official statement from the CMO indicates that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will also visit New Delhi for two days starting June 10, during which he will attend significant meetings of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and NITI Aayog.
