Rajnath Singh Criticizes Congress for Hindering Bihar's Progress
Rajnath Singh's Remarks on Bihar's Development
On Tuesday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh targeted the Congress party, accusing it of obstructing Bihar's development during its time in power. He emphasized that only the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) possesses the vision and capability to accelerate the state's growth. Speaking at an election rally in Raghopur, Singh criticized Congress for neglecting development, stating that whenever they are in power, progress comes to a halt. He asserted that the NDA is the only coalition capable of fostering development.
Comparison of Funding Records
Singh compared the funding records of the UPA and NDA for Bihar's development, noting that the UPA allocated merely ₹2 lakh crore for the state's growth during its tenure. In contrast, under the NDA, ₹15 lakh crore has been invested in Bihar over the past decade. Highlighting India's rising global stature under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Singh urged voters to support the NDA for continued progress and stability in Bihar. He remarked, "Today, when India speaks on any international platform, the entire world listens to us."
Amit Shah's Critique of RJD
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticized the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) for complaining to the Election Commission regarding the transfer of ₹10,000 to the accounts of Livelihood Sisters. Addressing a large crowd in Darbhanga, he expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "Recently, Modi Ji and Nitish Kumar Ji transferred over ₹1 crore (₹10,000 each) to the bank accounts of Livelihood Sisters. Shockingly, the RJD has written to the Election Commission asking for this amount to be returned." Shah further added, "I want to tell the Livelihood Sisters to forget about Lalu and Tejashwi; even if their last three generations come, they won't be able to take this ₹10,000 from them."
Initiatives for Women's Employment
He noted that the NDA government (both at the center and state) initiated the Chief Minister's Women Employment Scheme, which has facilitated the transfer of ₹10,000 to the bank accounts of over one crore "Livelihood Sisters" (women associated with self-help groups under the Livelihood program) to assist them in starting self-employment ventures.
