The police in the Seharamau North area of Pilibhit district have initiated legal action against a young man for allegedly uploading 26 pornographic videos involving minors on Instagram. A senior police official provided this information on Saturday.


Authorities discovered that the mobile number linked to the Instagram account belonged to a resident of a village within the Seharamau North police jurisdiction. Consequently, a case was registered on Friday under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Information Technology (IT) Act, prompting an investigation.


Abhishek Yadav, the Superintendent of Police (SP) in Pilibhit, informed that the investigation is ongoing, and directives have been issued to gather additional information through the portal.


According to the registered FIR, a report from the Cyber Crime Headquarters in Lucknow revealed that videos were uploaded from the social media account of a young man named Ritik Shukla on August 28.


The police have collected digital evidence related to the case. Inspector Sanjay Kumar, the officer in charge of Seharamau, stated that the suspect was taken into custody on Saturday, although he denied uploading the content. The case has been forwarded to the cyber cell for further action.
