Odisha Government Allocates ₹68 Crore for Tara Tarini Temple Revamp

Significant Investment for Temple Development
In a recent announcement, Odisha's Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi revealed that the state government has approved a budget of ₹68 crore for enhancing the infrastructure of the Tara Tarini Temple, situated in Ganjam district.
During his visit to the historic 17th-century temple, perched on a hill near Purushottampur, Majhi offered his prayers to the twin deities.
He also took the opportunity to assess the ongoing development projects at the shrine in collaboration with local authorities.
Of the total funds allocated, ₹8 crore will be dedicated to refurbishing the temple's 999 steps, enhancing security measures, installing an automatic cooking system, improving parking facilities, and acquiring land for a helipad.
Additionally, approximately ₹30 crore is earmarked for constructing a multi-storey dharamsala, creating a picnic area, and upgrading lighting and signage around the temple.
Furthermore, ₹25 crore will be allocated for the enhancement of the Rushikulya riverbed and the roads leading to the ancient site.
Lastly, ₹5 crore is set aside for the repair and upkeep of the temple's buildings.
Majhi emphasized the goal of transforming Tara Tarini Temple into one of the most appealing religious destinations in India.
He concluded by stating that he prayed for the state's progress and the socio-economic upliftment of its residents.
