Odisha's Vision for Renewable Energy

Chief Minister Mohan Chara Majhi of Odisha has announced the state's ambitious goal to emerge as a green energy center by the year 2036. He emphasized the importance of strengthening the state's energy supply chain.


This declaration was made during the inauguration of the three-day Global Energy Leadership Summit 2025 (GELS 2025) held in Puri on Saturday. Majhi highlighted the state's objective to significantly reduce its reliance on fossil fuels by 2036.


To ensure a continuous power supply in rural areas, Majhi stressed the need for investment in the energy sector. He underscored the significance of electricity as a crucial infrastructure for self-reliance and the empowerment of youth. The Chief Minister also urged other states to prioritize energy production and conservation.
