Mohammed Siraj Shines as Gujarat Titans Dominate Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL Clash

Hyderabad: In a thrilling Indian Premier League match, Mohammed Siraj showcased his exceptional bowling skills, achieving remarkable figures of 4 wickets for just 17 runs, as the Gujarat Titans limited the Sunrisers Hyderabad to a total of 152 runs for eight wickets.

Siraj made an early impact by dismissing openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma cheaply, later returning to claim two additional wickets on a challenging pitch.

Supporting Siraj, left-arm spinner R Sai Kishore and seamer Prasidh Krishna also delivered strong performances, taking 2 wickets each for 24 and 25 runs, respectively. However, Ishant Sharma struggled, conceding 53 runs in his four overs, allowing SRH to surpass 150 runs after being at 135 for eight at the start of the final over.

Travis Head had a lucky start when an edge off Siraj narrowly missed the stumps for a boundary. Nevertheless, Siraj ultimately dismissed the Australian opener, who flicked a delivery to Sai Sudharsan, who executed a brilliant diving catch at mid-wicket.

The crowd at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium erupted after witnessing a few boundaries, but Siraj quickly silenced them again by sending back Abhishek, who mis-timed an aerial shot and was caught at mid-on.

This left SRH struggling at 45 for two by the end of the power play.

Despite Gujarat's dominance, the match faced a brief interruption when Glenn Phillips sustained an injury and had to leave the field after receiving treatment.

Ishan Kishan (17) fell victim to a miscue off a short ball from Prasidh Krishna, leading to a catch at deep square leg by Ishant.

Nitish Kumar Reddy (31 off 34 balls) and Heinrich Klaasen (27 off 19 balls) attempted to stabilize the innings with a 50-run partnership for the fourth wicket, during which Klaasen hit a few boundaries, including a six against Rashid Khan.

However, just as SRH seemed to be building a solid foundation, Sai Kishore struck again, dismissing Klaasen by uprooting his leg stump as he attempted a pull shot.

Reddy soon followed suit, trying to clear Sai Kishore's bowling out of the park, leaving SRH at 105 for five at the start of the 16th over.
