Patna, June 9: A court in Patna has provided interim relief to the well-known educator Faisal Khan, popularly referred to as Khan Sir, by halting his arrest linked to a recent shooting incident at his coaching centre.

The District Judge's court issued this order on Tuesday after deliberating on Khan Sir's anticipatory bail request, which was discussed in a hearing the previous day.

While anticipatory bail has not yet been granted, the court has instructed law enforcement not to engage in any coercive actions against him until further notice.

The court has also requested the case diary and information regarding Khan Sir's criminal background from the investigating authorities. The next hearing is scheduled for June 30.

Requesting the case diary and the accused's criminal history is a standard judicial practice when evaluating an anticipatory bail application.

Despite the bail application still being under consideration, the stay on his arrest has significantly alleviated concerns for Khan Sir, who was facing the threat of immediate police action.

Following the court's decision, Khan Sir's attorney, Advocate Arvind Kumar Mahuar, stated that Khan Sir is now free to move about as the court has granted him protection from arrest.

The case originates from an incident on June 2, when unidentified assailants reportedly attacked Khan Global Studies, the coaching institute operated by Khan Sir in Patna.

In the aftermath, police apprehended Roshan Anand, the proprietor of Gyan Bindu Coaching Institute, and placed him in judicial custody.

The situation escalated when a video emerged showing two security guards allegedly firing shots into the air outside the coaching centre during the incident.

Consequently, both guards were arrested, and a case was filed against them. Khan Sir was later implicated in the case.

Authorities filed an FIR against Khan Sir under charges related to attempted murder and the Arms Act. Since the case was registered, he had reportedly evaded police capture.

Law enforcement had visited his coaching centre in attempts to locate him, but he was not present at the time.
