IndiGo's Recovery: CEO Announces Flight Operations on the Rise
IndiGo's Flight Operations Show Signs of Recovery
New Delhi: IndiGo's CEO, Pieter Elbers, announced on Sunday that the airline plans to operate approximately 1,650 flights, indicating a gradual return to normalcy.
Recently, the airline faced significant disruptions, with numerous flights being canceled or delayed, impacting thousands of travelers. Typically, IndiGo manages around 2,300 flights each day; however, on Saturday, it operated about 1,500 flights, a notable increase from just over 700 on Friday.
In a video message directed at employees, Elbers projected that the airline's On Time Performance (OTP) would reach 75% on Sunday.
"We have made further enhancements to our system, allowing us to achieve around 1,650 flights today," he stated.
This message was delivered from the airline's operational control center.
Elbers also mentioned that they have improved the cancellation process, enabling customers to be informed earlier to avoid unnecessary trips to the airport.
As of December 7, IndiGo reported that 137 out of 138 destinations were operational.
