How Odisha is Ensuring Safety During Ram Navami Celebrations

Bhubaneswar: On the eve of Ram Navami, personnel from the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) and Odisha Police conducted flag marches throughout the state. Authorities have implemented comprehensive security protocols in Sambalpur, Cuttack, Balasore, Bhadrak, and other sensitive areas, considering their historical context, according to police reports.

In Sambalpur, which experienced communal unrest in 2023, security has been significantly heightened with the deployment of 15 platoons from various police units, including the BSF and CRPF. To prevent any incidents, the city is monitored by 113 CCTV cameras and drones, as stated by Sambalpur's Additional SP, Ajay Mishra.

Cuttack City has also seen increased security, with 25 platoons of police on standby to ensure order, according to DCP Khilari Rishikesh Dnyandeo. The police are coordinating with local puja committees to facilitate a peaceful celebration of Ram Navami.

Moreover, Balasore and Bhadrak districts are also under strict security measures due to the large-scale celebrations of the festival. In Bhadrak, 26 platoons have been deployed, with similar arrangements in Balasore, involving personnel from the CRPF, BSF, and Rapid Action Force (RAF).
