Empowering Inmates Through Education

On Saturday, various prisons in Haryana initiated skill development centers, polytechnic diploma courses, and vocational programs at the ITI level for inmates.


The Chief Justice of India, D.Y. Chandrachud, inaugurated these initiatives from the Bhondsi District Jail in Gurugram under the project titled 'Empowering Life Behind Bars: A New Paradigm of Corrective Justice.'


According to an official statement, this corrective initiative formally launched skill development centers, polytechnic diploma programs, and ITI-level vocational training courses in Haryana's prisons.


The primary goal of these initiatives is to reshape the corrective ecosystem through structured education and skill development.


During the same event, the Chief Justice also kicked off a month-long statewide anti-drug awareness campaign aimed at addressing the rising challenge of substance abuse in the state.
