A New Era of Empowerment in Kalinga Nagar
Bhubaneswar: The Subhadra Shakti Café has opened its doors in the tranquil Anandabana region of Kalinga Nagar, marking a significant milestone in women's empowerment and entrepreneurship. This café is entirely operated by the Bhuasuni self-help group (SHG) and was recently inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida.
During her speech at the inauguration, Parida emphasized, “Initiatives like this are vital for achieving a self-sufficient Viksit Odisha. We are not merely creating job opportunities; we are cultivating future leaders.”
The café stands as a testament to transformation and opportunity, showcasing the ongoing success of the state's Mission Shakti program, which focuses on empowering women through training, business development, and collective strength. Each staff member has undergone professional hospitality training at the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) in Bhubaneswar, equipping them with the skills needed to run the café effectively.
The menu is diverse, offering healthy breakfast options, fresh juices, herbal teas, smoothies, and mocktails. More than just a dining spot, the café serves as a platform for SHG women to embrace entrepreneurship, manage operations, and proudly serve their community.
