Daylight Jewelry Heist in Arrah Leads to Police Encounter

In a brazen act, criminals executed a significant robbery in broad daylight within the Town Police Station vicinity of Arrah, Bihar. This incident escalated into an encounter between law enforcement and the suspects in the Diara area, resulting in two of the accused being shot.


Details of the Incident: On Monday morning, seven armed robbers stormed the Tanishq Jewelry showroom at Sheeshmahal Chowk, making off with jewelry valued at several lakhs. Police reports indicate that the authorities pursued the criminals, leading to a shootout. During this confrontation, two suspects were injured. Following the incident, Shahabad DIG Satyaprakash and STF SP Pramod Kumar arrived in Bhojpur to oversee the recovery of the stolen gold.


How the Robbery Unfolded

Eyewitness accounts reveal that the robbers entered the jewelry store pretending to be customers around 10:15 AM. They quickly took control of the salesman and the security guard at gunpoint. When salesman Rohit Kumar attempted to resist, he was assaulted, while the guard, Manoj Thakur, was threatened and had his licensed firearm taken. The criminals spent approximately 22 minutes looting both floors of the showroom.


Criminals Escape Towards Chhapra

Following the robbery, the suspects managed to escape the scene. Police sources indicate that they fled in the direction of Chhapra. Among the six robbers, one was masked, while the others were not. Upon receiving news of the incident, Bhojpur SP Raj, ASP Parichay Kumar, and other senior officers promptly arrived to initiate an investigation.


Ongoing Efforts to Capture Remaining Suspects

The two individuals shot during the encounter have been identified as Vishal Gupta, son of Bhuneshwar Prasad from Dighwara, Saran, and Kunal Kumar, son of Pradeep Rai from Semra, Sonpur. Authorities recovered two pistols, ten cartridges, the stolen jewelry from Tanishq in two large bags, and a Pulsar motorcycle from the suspects. A dedicated team has been formed to conduct raids aimed at apprehending the remaining individuals involved in this robbery.
