Refunds Announced for Class XII Students
New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced on Sunday that it will process refunds for students who were charged incorrectly during the Class XII post-result phase due to technical difficulties.
This decision follows a request from Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for a comprehensive report regarding the technical issues reported by students during the re-evaluation process.
According to a notice from the CBSE, on May 21 and 22, various technical problems resulted in erroneous fee deductions when students applied for scanned copies of their evaluated answer sheets.
The board noted that some students were overcharged while others were undercharged.
For those who paid too much, the CBSE confirmed that the exact excess amounts would be refunded using the same payment method originally used.
In cases where students were charged less, the board will notify them about the payment of any outstanding balance if necessary.
Additionally, scanned copies of the evaluated answer sheets will be provided automatically to affected candidates without requiring them to submit new requests.
On Wednesday, Minister Pradhan expressed serious concern over issues such as server downtime and payment gateway failures that were reported during the process.
In a statement released on Saturday, the CBSE assured that it is actively monitoring all reported issues and implementing corrective actions, including extending deadlines and making technical adjustments.
The board urged parents and students not to worry if they experienced these issues, emphasizing that the verification and re-evaluation process is designed to address legitimate concerns fairly and systematically.
