Emergency Landing in Mongolia

Air India has found itself in the spotlight once again after one of its flights from Delhi to San Francisco made an emergency landing in Mongolia. To assist the passengers stranded in Ulaanbaatar for over 24 hours, the airline dispatched a relief flight.


On Wednesday morning, Air India successfully brought back 228 passengers who had been stuck in Mongolia's capital. The flight, which was en route from San Francisco to Delhi, had to change its course due to a technical issue, leading to the unexpected stop in Ulaanbaatar.


An official confirmed that the relief flight landed in the national capital around 8:24 AM, transporting the passengers back home. This operation was carried out using a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.


Details of the Incident

A source connected to the incident mentioned that the Boeing 777 aircraft, which was diverted to Ulaanbaatar, had a total of 245 individuals on board, including 228 passengers and 17 crew members. The relief flight, designated AI183, took off for Ulaanbaatar on Tuesday afternoon.


On Monday, Air India, owned by the Tata Group, stated that the AI174 flight, traveling from San Francisco to Kolkata and then to Delhi, was diverted to Ulaanbaatar as a precaution due to suspected technical issues encountered by the flight crew. The Boeing 777 landed safely in Ulaanbaatar.
