Manjeet Makkar Takes Center Stage in Star Plus' Unique Contract Marriage Drama
Introducing Manjeet Makkar in Maana Ke Hum Yaar Nahi
Manjeet Makkar stars in the upcoming Star Plus series, Maana Ke Hum Yaar Nahi, which offers a fresh perspective on the theme of contract marriages.
In this show, he portrays Krishna, a clever con artist who adopts various identities, including that of a doctor, a policeman, and even a watchman, all in pursuit of financial gain. He expressed his enthusiasm and gratitude for becoming part of the Star Plus family.
He shared, “Growing up, I watched Star shows with my family, and now being part of this feels incredibly special. On my first day, I was filled with excitement and nerves. One of my fondest memories from the set was watching my entry scene on the monitor alongside my director, producer, and the entire team. Seeing the joy and anticipation in everyone’s eyes after watching that shot was a truly memorable moment for me.”
Discussing his role further, he mentioned, “Krishna is a resourceful young man from Delhi, which resonates with me as I also hail from there. My own experiences in Mumbai have been filled with resourcefulness, creating a strong connection to my character. Portraying Krishna is both challenging and enjoyable, as he transitions between various roles like a doctor, police officer, and watchman. Each transformation brings me joy. With my theater background, I’ve tackled numerous roles before, and I’m eager to apply that experience here. Typically, an actor remains consistent in their character portrayal, but Krishna’s constant evolution keeps me thrilled.”
When asked what viewers can anticipate, Manjeet replied, “Krishna isn’t a superhero; he’s relatable, like the boy next door. He will evoke laughter and perhaps tears, but most importantly, he will remind everyone that true happiness is found in the little things—be it food, friendships, caring for parents, or living a life filled with love and simplicity. That’s the core of his narrative.”
